Stephen Heuzey | Worship Team
Originally from Long Island, I came to Cornerstone with my wife Kate back in 2015 and have been involved with the music ministry since we’ve joined. Music has always been a passion of mine, I grew up playing piano (classical and jazz) and picked up guitar and bass along the way.
Growing up in the church, I’ve always found it interesting to see how corporate worship, through varying musical styles, can be used in powerful ways to invite us into God’s presence, remind us of His faithfulness through all of life's seasons, and give God the glory for what He’s done for us through His son Jesus. It’s for these reasons why I’m blessed to be a part of what God’s doing here at Cornerstone in the worship team.
In my free time, I enjoy traveling with my wife / friends, distance running and working on software development projects.
Katie Heuzey | Kids Ministry
I grew up attending Cornerstone Chapel with my family, and I truly benefited from being a part of the kids’ and youth ministries. My husband, Stephen, and I moved to New Jersey in 2015 and have attended Cornerstone together since that time and have enjoyed being a part of the Cornerstone family. We are very excited that our family is growing; with the addition of our daughter in the coming months, we know she will be loved by our Cornerstone family.
I have always had a love for children – growing up with younger sisters and cousins, working as a foster care social worker and currently serving as coordinator of Cornerstone’s kids’ ministry. It is Cornerstone’s and my passion to see our children growing to know the Lord and learning to love Him and others well. In this role, I organize the weekly lesson plans and the scheduling of teachers for our Nursery, Preschool/Kindergarten and 1st through 5th grade classrooms. I also enjoy being hands on as one of our Preschool/Kindergarten teachers.
I am not a person with too many hobbies, but in my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and prepping and getting excited for the coming of our daughter.
Cornerstone Chapel is a part of the Metro District within the Christian & Missionary Alliance. We enjoy a leadership through qualified men serving as Elders along with delegated roles in leadership across our Ministries.
