Going deeper questions (Life Group)

  • What stood out to you about this message and why?
  • Compared to dull of hearing or sluggish of 5:11, how does 6:13-15 set a better example for us to follow?
  • What is the goal of God’s testing in our lives? How does testing differ from tempting? Does God tempt us (see James 1:13)
  • What was Abraham confident in? (Gen 22:4-8;19)
  • What does Mount Moriah and the ram mean for us today? (Hebrews 6:18-19)
  • How can our faith anchor firm in the object, Jesus, versus the subjective circumstances we find ourselves in daily?

      • God intervenes and provides a ram for offering.
      • Moriah, God sees, and provides for our need!
      • God’s Promise is the fruit of His Character; obedience is the fruit of our Faith in God’s Promise! (Vv. 5; 19)
  1. God is still our Refuge- He Sees and Provides! (6:17-20)
  • God’s Promise / Purpose and Oath are anchored in His unchanging character. (Vv.17-18)
  • Let us flee continually to Him (Moriah) for the High Priesthood of Jesus (Temple / Holy of Holies) who is our forerunner! (Vv.19-20) See: John 14:2-4
